The vessel was rebuilt after a fire in 1987 and renamed Captain Proud in 1989. In 1993 the vessel entered the River Murray from the sea at the Murray mouth near Goolwa and travelled to Echuca. The Captain Proud has now returned to Murray Bridge where it used to trade since 1995.  Captain Proud features an Air Conditioned Dining Room with Licensed Bar, as well as seating on the second level Fore and Aft decks. Captain Proud is a real side paddle wheeler.
